This project was a bit of a happy accident. Sh2-124 wasn’t a planned target — I stumbled upon it while configuring my remote setup at Starfront Observatory and testing N.I.N.A.’s advanced Target Scheduler. A month later, it had quietly turned into a full-fledged 46-hour integration — and one of my favorite surprises this season.

My field of view is relatively tight, but the nebula framed beautifully within it. The intricate dust lanes and swirling gas structures really stood out as I refined the SHO mapping, balancing the warm SII glow against the cooler OIII wisps for a calm, “storm-in-space” aesthetic.

What started as a random test became a lesson in patience and process.
